Would you please consider voting for Jackson? If you vote, you must include his name and number. Jackson 086. Terry has taken this disabled giant schnauzer boy and very literally given him a new lease on life. Thank you Terry!! The more you contribute, the more votes you get! Terry is an angel. She adopted two ten year old giants that were dumped at a pound in VA this summer and got them to AZ. And she has Jackson who suffered a stroke and several other giants that she does agility with and therapy dogs.
You can contribute as little as $5 for one vote. Since I started this emailing this morning after Terry asked me to do so, Jackson is now in 1st place. It would be a tremendous help for our rescue to have him win so we could have the $$ for our 501(c)3 rescue group. But we have two more weeks in the contest at the IMOM calendar contest.
Please feel free to forward this to others who might be interested.

Jackson is a special needs pet. He lived in California until his owner died and the family turned him into the pound (at that time his name was Duke and he was 5 years old).
Southern California Giant Schnauzer Rescue sprung him from jail and, when a family in Arizona showed interest he was sent to Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue. The family was a single mom with 4 teenagers who had just lost a Doberman to an unexpected illness.
Duke was given a new name "Buehler" and one day while in Doggie Day Care, he suffered a spinal stroke and lost the use of the rear of his body so he was given back to Rescue.
When Valley of the Sun GS Rescue had their annual GS Fun Day, Buehler was watching all the other dogs and trying valiantly to join in but it was hard dragging one dead leg and rear end.
Starr and Steve (ages 2 and 6) were at the Fun Day with their owner and took Buehler home to live with them and they gave him a new name: "Jackson".
Jackson is thriving, although still with difficulty moving at times...
he likes his new name and his new pack, his long walks and his swims and he hopes all the pets out there in need can also find a home where they can be accepted for who they
are and can thrive in their new surroundings.

Our 2010 calendar will showcase the 12 pets who receive the most votes in our contest (one for each month). Additionally, the first-place winner will name the animal welfare 501(c)(3) organization that will receive 25% of the contest profit! Your vote in this contest will mean something not only to the pets who will be featured in the calendar, it will also mean something to the pets in need who come to IMOM for help. In this economy, this is more important than ever, as there are many furry faces who need help, yet very few places to turn to. And, when you place your vote, you won't just be helping IMOM -- you'll also be helping another deserving pet charity. Please click here for a list of contestants, where you can see each pet's photo, read their story, and place your vote. When placing your vote, be sure to specify the number and name of the pet you are voting for.
